The Surface Collection
Enamel is a layer of glass fused onto metal. It is a fragile material and needs to be looked after to ensure its durability. To care for your piece, please read the following advice:
Care should be taken not to drop or knock your piece against hard surfaces to avoid breakage or shattering of the enamel.
Due to the matte finish on light coloured enamels, there is a possibility that your piece could become discoloured over time. The item can be washed in warm water with a mild soap but must be dried properly afterwards to avoid tarnishing on the exposed metal. Use a soft cloth or toothbrush if needed, but take care to be gentle as enamelled surfaces scratch easily.
Rings from this collection cannot be sized up or down if enamelled.
Taking good care of your enamelled piece will help to maintain its aesthetic for many years.
Silver Jewellery
Silver will naturally tarnish and discolour over time. To ensure that the shiny, clean finish is maintained for as long as possible I recommend avoiding hand creams, perfumes and other similar products.
Silver dip /cleaner products may be used, but care must be taken to ensure that the jewellery is cleaned thoroughly afterwards. Do not use silver cleaner on enamelled products from the Surface Collection.
Plated Jewellery
Silver plated jewellery may naturally tarnish similarly to solid silver, and can be used with a silver dip/cleaner to maintain its shine. Do not use cleaning products with enamelled jewellery from the Surface Collection.
The plated items in my collections have a coating of 3 microns or over, which is a thick layer and should last for many years. The wear of the plating depends on how often the item is worn and in what conditions. If your item needs to be re-plated, I will be happy to do this for you for an additional charge (to be confirmed at the time of request).
